I am a Math and Biology teacher, certified to teach Grades 4 to 12. Currently I am teaching Math and Science at The Bishop Strachan School in Toronto, working a wonderful group of Grade 7 girls. I have also taught overseas in Jakarta, Indonesia as well as on board a tall ship with the Class Afloat School. All of these experiences have shown me that my teaching needs to flexible, reflective of my students and most importantly, reflective of who I am and my experiences.
My passion is differentiation in my instruction and assessment, providing students with choices in their learning. I want my students to challenge themselves and learn how to work through obstacles in their academics and knowing that they will be supported. By doing this I feel that students will be able to experience the joy of learning, constantly pushing themselves to improve and open their eyes to new ideas and opportunities.
I look forward to hearing ideas, critiques and being apart of conversations to help me improve my practice and the experiences of my students.

Hi Ruth,
ReplyDeleteYou taught STEM subjects? That's awesome, we definitely can learn from you if we ever got the chance! Anyway, this email is about a Mathematics mobile app, 'Little Wizy Kingdom'.
To sum up the game, think of it as a combination between Farmville, Mathematics and logic thinking.
'Build your kingdom by solving Mathematics questions and puzzles!'
We believe that Mathematics is the fundamental of our world, a scroll, a book or poem can be burned and lost, but mathematics can never be destroyed.
Little Wizy Kingdom is a an app with great quality and truly made for the next generation. And of course, the app is designed not only to teach, but to generate a 'Mathematical mind'.
Thank you! The future of humanity starts from small steps! Do let me know if you’re interested in taking a look at this app, it would be great to have your feedback on Little Wizy Kingdom.
:-)
Cheers,
Boon Hong
